Mrs Karen Hart

My name is Karen Hart and I have lived in Dipton since 2005 with my husband and daughters who attended Collierley Primary. My grandson is now a pupil here, and I also have a small granddaughter - both of them keep me very busy!

Although I was raised in Whickham, my family are from Scotland and we continue to have very strong ties there.

I have worked in education since 2004, as a teacher and now a senior leader in special education settings. I feel extremely honoured and very proud to work with children and young people with additional needs, they teach me new things about the world everyday!

My passions and interests include travelling, yoga and mindfulness, spending time in our allotment and cooking with all the fantastic things we grow. I am so lucky to have my immediate family close by and value the benefits of a strong community.
