Year 3 and 4

Welcome to our

Year 3

Hello, welcome to Year 3! Our class teacher is Miss Readman. We are sometimes taught by Mrs Wikinson. We also have Miss Brown who supports us.

Our Learning

In Year 3, we all love learning different things!

We are enjoying practising our reading skills every day. We are doing this by continuing to practise our phonics. We are using Sounds-write to help us with this. This is helping us to become super readers and writers. Please help us to practise our reading by reading at home with us at least 3 times a week.

In English, we enjoy reading different class texts, from a range of genres. We use this text to base our reading, punctuation and grammar and writing lessons.

In Maths, we follow the White Rose scheme. This scheme allows us to recap previous knowledge befre progressing onto learning new areas.
We are currently learning about length and perimeter and practicing our times tables lots!

You can practice your times tables at home, using Hit the Button or Times Tables Rockstar's-it is really fun!

If you have any questions, you can email Miss Readman. Her email address is

You can keep up to date with what we are doing everyday by checking our Facebook page.

Our ultimate aim is to raise standards and outcomes for all of our children

How can I support my child at home?

Knowledge Organisers:

Knowledge Organisers are a handy document that children use in school.  These show the key information and vocabulary that children will be learning and using in the different subject areas.

Homework this half term:

Homework is given to children on a weekly basis. It is handed out on a Friday, to be returned the following Friday. Homework consists of a selection of Maths questions, as well as reading three times at home and signing this in the child's reading record.

There is also the option to attend Homework club, which is on every Friday till 4:15pm.
