Welcome to Year 3 and 4

Hello, welcome to our class. Our class teacher is Miss Readman.
Miss Wilkinson teaches us on a Monday.
We also have Miss Edington and Miss Beason who support our class.

Our Learning

In our class, we all love learning different things!

We are enjoying practising our reading skills every day. We are doing this by continuing to practise our phonics. We are using Sounds-Write to help us with this. This is helping us to become super readers and writers. Children are also encouraged to read a minimum of three times a week at home with an adult to develop reading further.

In English, we enjoy reading different class texts, from a range of genres. We use this text to base our reading, punctuation and grammar and writing lessons.

In Maths, we follow the White Rose scheme. This scheme allows us to recap previous knowledge before progressing onto learning new areas.
We are currently learning about multiplication and division and practicing our times tables lots!

You can practice your times tables at home, using Hit the Button or Times Tables Rockstars-it is really fun!

For our P.E sessions this term, Year 3 and 4 are attending swimming sessions each week, on a Thursday afternoon.

If you have any questions, you can email Miss Readman. Her email address is i.readman@collierleyprimary.co.uk

You can keep up to date with what we are doing everyday by checking our Facebook page.

Our ultimate aim is to raise standards and outcomes for all of our children

How can I support my child at home?

Knowledge Organisers:

The Knowledge Organisers are created to inform parents/carers about the curriculum content of each subject, within the year group. The contents in the knowledge organisers will allow you to gain an insight into what your child is learning about.
